For the love of PRINTS.
My windowsill is stained with tears, an indication of the cloud’s blues or if you are like me, you may believe that this symbolic of something much deeper. I am inspired by the way in which rain flows– quenching the earth’s thirst, removing elements that no longer serve and penetrating the soil on which us humans plant our feet and plant to feed. This rain, damp & slightly cold to the touch, causes us to stand still without warning and to take notice of a power that is greater than Self. At the same time, it can awaken dormant dreams. It inspires. These are times for reflection and transformation– a magical hour.
For the past few weeks, I have been sending CV’s non-stop, planning my curriculum for the Fall, and contemplating over the goals I had set for this year. I’ve never been one to place weight on New Year resolutions because my life (soul)’s work is too important to be determined or led by social norm. I am constantly in pursuit of Self, looking within for direction and thus, my goals are an on-going project of sorts. Indeed, this blog is one of those projects.
As a lover of beauty and individuality, I am drawn to vibrant colors, creative wares, and the artistry. While planning out my wardrobe for the upcoming season, it was just my luck that I came across Signe Emdal, a Danish textile designer and brilliance behind EMDAL COLORKNIT. This brand is filled with incredibly beautiful digital-knitted scarves, capes, and blankets and is highlighted by what Emdal calls “the wearable hug,” a scarf of sorts that can be draped around the neck and head or a worn as cape (kimono style). Using delicate materials, such as Egyptian cotton and Merico wool, her wares stand to be a one-of-a-kind statement addition to my Fall wardrobe. The price point is not half bad, especially when you consider the level of craftmanship and design.
